NEW ALBUM ALERT - 16th March 2008
Yes
we have a new album, in case anyone reading didn't know.
Its coming out 24th March (Easter Monday....hmmmm)
on Sonar Kollektiv out of Berlin.
it'll be on itunes too. In fact, its up there NOW.
9 pieces of banks fiddly fiddly noodly noodly from the heart.
it has been described as "Karen carpenter mashed with Shuggie Otis with George Martin at the board" (MdCL) - but frankly that sounds a little too much....i mean, what about the Hermeto Pascoal influence or even the Arvo Part section. . . . . . . .?
Rush to your local emporium be it near or far or online or even a bretherens CD burner & clamour to you local live music promoter to book the banks for the veritable music hall extravaganza that will be the live show !
We shall be playing a few dates in Japan in May and then select shows around Europe over the summer and autumn - keep your eyes peeled cos you might miss us (although 8 people smashing up their instruments in coordinated sports jackets is hard to miss).
This site is about to be brought kicking and screaming into the now too.
Al go baby.

A wee word of update (all the way live from the ba - 10th May 2006
Well
Its been a long long time since the last log. Mans could be forgiven for thinking we had gone underground - escaping the impending identity card whitewash or maybe creating our own insurgency. or maybe even hoisting an old testament wielding fundamentalist jewish reggae siner upone the global music scene and making a million.
BUT NO. none of these things have occured, although there have been countless moments where any, or all, could have erupted all at the same time in a flurry of cosmic noodling and solo miles.
Anyway, life is not to dwell on the past. The banks are emerging from a hardware hibernation and the present is all creation. The zinger towers have been overhauled and a makeshift studio is thriving in its wake. production is speculative at present but LP number three is forming fast with a hopeful completion in the autumn. . . . . . . . .after that expect this site to expand radically and the cosmic insurgency to really take hold.
Banks updation - 27th July 2005
OK OK......
So we haven't been that forthcoming with any information.
So we haven't done that many gigs this year. In fact we've only cancelled them.
We have been musing on a new LP but its early.
The Good news is. If anyone wants banks material on a track by track basis, we've signed on with new New York download site Dancetracks Digital. There may even be the odd exclusive there too ! Check it out baby.......

Cosmic jazz - its a strong look - 17th August 2004
And so endeth the summer saga of the two stroke four in the 2 double O 4. With the chattering M&S meze's, chardonnay sipping, review section reading, habitat colourful furry blanket lounging picnic of Marble hill and the rowdy ale swigging catcalling of the Brecon Jazz festival the wondering cosmic minstrels put down their conical hats and spangly robes and looked to other climes. Zinger and Ryiuchi sought smaller bands and more scaleable heights while Jean Caramouce setlled to her designs of high class pop acts and bu bu babies. Taylorsan prepared for a Kraftwerk reincarnation of blinking LED ties and Japanese perks and Seegue holed up to hatch a beast on wax awaiting to ambush an unsuspecting public while Mullarkese set off to the A406 with a burgeoning family and thoughts of a victorious double - first and last on that day. The legends of brass all filtered off - Yarde last seen heading to the Thames path with all his luggage in a morning suit and red carnation talking merovingian scales and Hermetos Brazilian national anthem played on a bicycle pump. Finn P mused on planting a grove of fantastic trees on blackheath from whence he could hatch a plan of musical domination stretching through to the very fabric of our society based on the collectivising power of the seedpod, then skipped off like a modern day pied piper singing "...a bit ropey on the main stage". Big Joe bentley left early with his fair antipodean maiden towards a future of full respect (serious trombone TM). As for sir Byron Wallen ? well the abbey wood Gamelan massive summoned him back ..............
Showing much love to all the team players that contributed their skills to the 2bo4 squad system over the last 8 months. We smashed it.
